Negative Press on Service Contracts?? Bantha Poodoo!!

As some of you may be aware, there has been some bad press lately about certain companies trying to sell service contracts underhandedly by incorporating them into the cost of items sold by their respective stores.  My response to this is Bantha Poodoo!! (I know some of you understand this term, as for the rest of you go see Star Wars). Dont let a few bad apples spoil the barrel, as the saying goes. I can tell you that service contracts are a vital and important tool for service companies trying to create a new and re-occurring revenue stream into their business.  For your customers, it is invaluable as it provides piece of mind for those trying to watch their nickels and dimes during these tough economic times. Who wouldnt want the sense of comfort knowing that if something breaks, a simple phone call will have an expert there to fix it without the exorbitant costs associated with not having some form of service contract? The fact is that by selling service contracts, you gain a customer for life (as long as they keep renewing with you). To keep them coming back, you just have to provide the best service you know how every time your customer requests it. So, for those of you who have been worrying and have been on the fence on whether or not to sell service contracts to your customers even when bad news hits the press, my advice is not to worry. Service contracts, service agreements, service plans, or whatever you want to call them will always be a necessity. And they will always be in customer demand. Just remember, as long as things break there will always be a need to have a specialist and/or experts to fix them. Offering a service contract will make those repairs less stressful, both mentally and financially for your customers.
